Families Presence On Indian Tour Would Be Restricted By BCCI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is thinking of introducing new rules that would limit the presence of players' families when they travel abroad. This activity is part of an attempt to keep players' attention on their performance and limit distractions during important tournaments and series.
BCCI Guidelines
The selection comes after the BCCI held continuous talks about how to protect the team's interests while balancing the players' personal and professional lives. Discussions about the effects of family members' presence on players' mental health and team relationships have come up in recent years.
The BCCI has allowed, under certain limitations, the families of players to go with them overseas. But there may have been logistical issues and cases of long family stays that have raised worries inside the board. The board feels forced to review its policies in regard to the more demanding nature of international cricket, which includes high-pressure matches, bio-bubbles, and tight scheduling.
Players' immediate families, including their partners and kids, are only permitted to travel with them for a maximum of 14 days on tours lasting 45 days or longer, and not at all during the first two weeks. Families may travel with players for up to a week on shorter tours.
BCCI Statement
The BCCI tries to find a balance between allowing players to spend time with their loved ones and making sure they stay focused on its goals, according to people familiar with the situation. The aim is not to create restrictions but to create an atmosphere where players can perform at their best without external distractions," said a spokesperson for the BCCI.
New Policy
If the new rule is put into effect, it will likely include more stringent restrictions on how long family visits can last as well as whether parts of a tour are suitable for families. For example, family members may only be allowed to attend more less demanding series or the last part of a tour.
