Former Indian cricketer Vikram Rathore becomes Rajasthan batting coach

Former Indian team batting coach Vikram Rathore has been appointed as the batting coach by IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. The IPL franchise said in its official statement that the 55-year-old former Indian opener will be their batting coach.

Vikram Rathore, who has played 6 Tests and 7 ODIs for India, told Rajasthan Royals, "It is a privilege to be a part of the Royals family. Once again I have got a chance to work with Rahul and now with young cricketers. I will help in the vision of the team and in creating top class players for the Royals, which will be helpful in making the team an IPL winner."

On Rathore joining the team, head coach Rahul Dravid said, "After working closely with Vikram for many years, I can say with confidence that his calm demeanor and understanding of Indian conditions make him the best for the Royals. Became India's batting coach in 2019

Before becoming India's batting coach in 2019, Rathore also worked as a national selector for four years. He also coached Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket and has also worked with Punjab Kings before Rajasthan in the IPL.
