Klaasen Retirement Announced On Social Media

Klaasen said in a statement posted on June 2, 2025, that his main motivation for leaving his overseas responsibilities was to spend more time with his family. "It was truly a very difficult decision but also one that I have absolute peace with," he said, expressing satisfaction with his choice.

Klaasen International Career

After making his debut for his country in 2018, Klaasen immediately built a name for himself as a strong player in South Africa's limited-overs squads. He participated in 60 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and averaged an outstanding 43.69, scoring four hundreds and eleven fifties. He amassed 1,000 runs at an impressive rate of 141.84 in 58 outings during the T20 Internationals. Between 2019 and 2023, he appeared in four Test matches throughout his brief career.

Klaasen Will Continue Play T20 Leagues

Klaasen will keep on playing in a number of T20 tournaments, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Hundred, and Major League Cricket (MLC) in the US, even if he has retired from international cricket. He is an excellent asset on the franchise cricket circuit because of his experience and aggressive batting style.
