When the field umpire rejected the appeal, Rohit Sharma took DRS and after watching the replay, the third umpire overturned the decision.
India lost DRS in the 14th over of the Bangladeshi innings. Here Siraj's good length ball hit captain Shanto's pad. Shanto wanted to flick the ball on the leg side. Siraj appealed strongly. The umpire gave not out. Indian captain Rohit was not ready to take DRS, but wicketkeeper Pant convinced him. After watching the replay, it was found that the ball was pitched outside leg. The umpire's decision of not out remained intact and India lost one DRS.
It was raining continuously in Kanpur before the second test, due to which the Meteorological Department had also declared a high alert for rain. The match started late on Friday. The match which was to start at 9:30 was delayed by an hour. After this, there was heavy rain at lunch time as well. After which the game was started. But it rained again after the 35th over. Due to which the match had to be stopped there. An hour later, around 3 pm, the umpires called stumps on the first day.
