Heroes of India's victory

Shubman Gill

This is proving to be a dream series for Indian captain Shubman Gill. Gill has scored 585 runs in two Test matches. In the second Test, all the English bowlers looked helpless in front of Gill. Gill scored 269 runs in 387 balls in the first innings. In this innings, Gill spent 8 hours, 29 minutes on the crease. In the second innings, he batted even more aggressively and scored 161 runs in 162 balls. Gill hit 43 fours and 11 sixes in the match.

Akash Deep

Akash Deep did not get a chance in the playing-11 in the first match. This time he played in the absence of Bumrah. He bowled brilliantly in both the innings. In the first innings, Akashdeep took 4 wickets for 88 runs. Whereas, in the second innings, he took 6 wickets for 99 runs. Akashdeep troubled the England batsmen throughout the match with his seam movement. With the new ball, he gave breakthroughs to the Indian team in both the innings.

Mohammad Siraj

Siraj took 6 wickets for 70 runs in England's first innings on this pitch which proved to be a paradise for the batsmen. He also took a wicket in England's second innings. The team's strike bowler Jasprit Bumrah was not playing in this match. In such a situation, Siraj played the role of lead bowler very well.

Captain Gill said-

The way we scattered their top order was commendable. Prasidh Krishna did not get many wickets, but he bowled tremendously. Akash consistently bowled at the right length and made the ball swing to the other side. Bumrah will return to Lord's. There can be no greater honor than captaining your country in a Test match at Lord's.

The third Test will be held at Lord's from July 10

The third Test match of the series will be played at Lord's Cricket Ground from July 10. India has played 19 Tests here so far and won 3. Lost 12 and 4 matches were drawn. The good thing for India is that the team has won two out of the last three Test matches here.
