The TATA IPL 2025's Match 15 sees the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a resounding 80-run margin at Eden Gardens.
Match Summary
Angkrish’s 50 and Iyer’s 60 runs, help KKR to score 200
After choosing to bat first, KKR posted a commanding 200/6 in the 20 overs they were given. The innings was stabilized by an 81-run partnership between captain Ajinkya Rahane (38 off 27 balls) and youthful Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50 off 32 balls), despite early losses when Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine were both bowled cheaply by Pat Cummins and Mohammad Shami, respectively. After that, Venkatesh Iyer quickly increased the score by hammering 60 off just 29 balls, and Rinku Singh added an undefeated 32 off 17 balls to help KKR reach their commanding total.
Vaibhav and Varun’s outstanding bowling performance, SRH all out just 120
Chasing 201, SRH's chase was unsuccessful right away. Within the first three overs, SRH was reduced to 9/3 when Vaibhav Arora struck early, dismissing Travis Head and Ishan Kishan, and Harshit Rana removed Abhishek Sharma. Heinrich Klaasen (33 off 21 balls) and Kamindu Mendis (27 off 20 balls) put up a brief fight, but SRH was unable to rally. With three wickets, including those of Aniket Verma, Pat Cummins, and Simarjeet Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy's spin proved to be deadly. With two more wickets from Andre Russell, SRH was bowled out for 120 in 16.4 overs.
