Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) issued a statement confirming the incident with the bowler. The board said that he got seriously injured in a Bangladesh Premier League match (BPL).

Left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman met with an accident on Sunday. During net practice for Comilla Victorians, he was hit on the head by a ball, due to which he fell on the field drenched in blood. After this incident, he was given first aid on the area and admitted to the hospital. BCB said, "During practice, a ball hit Mustafizur Rahman directly on his head, causing a deep wound on his head. After first aid, he was immediately admitted to the Imperial Hospital."

Physio's Statement

After being admitted to the hospital, Rahman's CT scan was done, the report of which revealed that there was no internal bleeding. Meanwhile, team physio SM Jahidul Sajal said that his wound would get stitches, for which he would have to undergo a surgical procedure. "Mustafizur had a head injury, which was treated with a compression bandage," Sajal said. He had to undergo a surgical procedure to put stitches on the wound and is currently being closely monitored by the Comilla Victorians team physio."
