On February 20, 2025, during the India vs. Bangladesh ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match, an important issue formed over the tournament's broadcast graphics. During the live broadcast, viewers noted that the on-screen symbols only had the tournament title, "Champions Trophy 2025," clearly leaving out the name of the host country, Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested clarification from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the change from the normal method, which usually includes the host nation's name in the tournament branding.

PCB Statement On This Controversy

The PCB raised its disappointment with the absence, and points out that in past matches, such as Pakistan's opening meet in Karachi against New Zealand and the Afghanistan-South Africa match, the broadcast graphics correctly displayed the event name and Pakistan's status as the host country.

ICC Answer To PCB Statement

The ICC formally answered to the PCB's complaints by saying that missing Pakistan's name was a technical mistake. The PCB, however, was not convinced, pointing out that broadcast visuals are usually created well in growth, making it impossible to attribute this failure to technical difficulties alone.

The PCB has asked the ICC for guarantees that such incidents won't happen in future broadcasts, highlighting how important it is that tournament branding be precisely and regularly represented, no matter the teams playing.

Third Controversy Between India vs Pakistan In This Champions Trophy 2025

This is the third controversy between India vs Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025. Before that there were already two controversies.

According to earlier reports, even though Pakistan is the tournament's official host, the BCCI was hesitant to put "Pakistan" on the Indian team's jerseys

Then second, the absence of the Indian flag at Karachi's National Stadium sparked debates.
