Smiriti Mandhana Back In No. 1 In ICC Women’s ODI Ranking

Gaining the top spot in the ICC rankings for the first time since November 2019, Smriti Mandhana has made a remarkable comeback to the top of women's ODI batting.
In the most recent ICC Women's ODI Batting Rankings, which were made public on June 17, 2025, the graceful left-hander jumped ahead with 727 rating points, beating England's Nat Sciver-Brunt and South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt, who are currently tied for second place with 719. After holding the top spot in November 2019, Mandhana has finally ended an almost six-year slide at the summit.

Mandhana's Massive Innings Against Sri Lanka’s Tri-Series In April-May
She had a purple streak during the April–May Sri Lanka Tri-Series, scoring 264 runs in five ODIs, including a crucial 51 against South Africa and a dominant 116 in the final versus Sri Lanka. Her comeback to No. 1 is no mistake.
Her achievement after getting the ranking back
- The only Indian in the ICC Top 10 for ODI batting is Mandhana; Jemimah Rodrigues (ranked 14–15) and Harmanpreet Kaur (ranked 15–16) are next in line.
- She is one of only four women with 11+ ODI hundreds and was previously named the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year (2024).
Mandhana eye on the upcoming tour
Later this month, India will tour of England will play a three-ODI series; India's performance could be important.
Maintaining this elite level of play will be crucial for India's goals in the international arena as well as for her legacy as the World Cup comes near.
