Urvil Patel is the fastest Indian to score a century in T20

Gujarat team opener and wicketkeeper Urvil Patel has become the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in T20 format. He scored a century in just 28 balls against Tripura in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Wednesday.

The match was played at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Before Urvil, this record was in the name of Rishabh Pant, who scored a century in 32 balls against Himachal Pradesh in the same tournament in 2018. Urvil scored an unbeaten 113 runs in 35 balls. He hit 12 sixes and 7 fours in it.

Urvil remained unsold in IPL mega auction

Urvil remained unsold in the mega auction of IPL-2025. This auction was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24 and 25 November. No team had bid on Urvil. He was bought by Gujarat Titans in the 2023 mini auction. However, he did not get a chance to play the match.

Urvil also has the second fastest century in List A

Urvil had earlier scored a century in 41 balls against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 27 November last year. This was the second fastest century in List-A cricket. Ahead of him in this list is Yusuf Pathan, who scored a century in 40 balls in 2009-10.
