India has once again made it to the knockout stage of the ICC tournament. The team will play the semi-final of the T20 World Cup against England on 27 June. India is playing the 11th ICC tournament since 2013 and the team has made it to the knockout round for the 10th time, but despite crossing the group stage continuously, India has not been able to get a single ICC trophy since 2014.
India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007, the team won the trophy by defeating Pakistan by 5 runs in the final. After this, the team played 7 more T20 World Cups. The team reached the knockout stage i.e. semi-finals and final 3 times, but missed the title.

Meanwhile, in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2021, the team could not even cross the group stage. Now in the World Cup of this format, India has once again confirmed the ticket to the semi-finals.
India won the last ODI World Cup title in 2011. 28 years ago in 1983, the team got its first success in the World Cup of this format. Then the team won the trophy by defeating West Indies and Sri Lanka in 2011. Since then, India has played 3 more ODI World Cups, every time the team reached the knockout stage, but could not get the title in any of them.
In 2015, India defeated Bangladesh in the quarter-finals, but had to face defeat from home team Australia in the semi-finals. In 2019, New Zealand defeated India in the semi-finals. In 2023, India again equalized the score and defeated New Zealand in the semi-finals, but the team could not win against Australia in the final.
India won the first title in Champions Trophy in 2002, however, due to the final being inconclusive, the trophy had to be shared with Sri Lanka. After this, in 2013, the team defeated England in the final on its home ground and captured the trophy. This was India's last ICC trophy in the last 11 years.
After 2013, the Champions Trophy tournament was held only once in 2017. India defeated Bangladesh in the semi-finals and entered the final for the second consecutive time, but had to face a huge defeat of 180 runs against Pakistan. After this, the Champions Trophy did not happen, now in 2025 the tournament will be held in Pakistan.
ICC started the World Test Championship in the form of Test World Cup to make Test cricket interesting. In this, 9 teams play 6 bilateral series each for 2 years. Here the final is played between the top-2 teams in the points table.
The final of the WTC i.e. World Test Championship has been held only twice so far, in 2021 and 2023. India made it to the final both times, but both times the team lost. In 2021, New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets and in 2023, Australia defeated India by 209 runs.
India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. He believes that in any match, his focus is more on action and process than the result. That is, he focuses on what he can do and not on what the result will be. With this mindset, he won 3 ICC trophies for India.
Although India faced failures under Dhoni's captaincy, he is the only captain to win 3 different ICC trophies. After him, India played all the ICC tournaments under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, but did not get success in any.
