England Seals Thrilling 22‑Run Victory and Takes 2–1 Series Lead

On July 14th, Day 5 of the 3rd test against England at Lord's, England beat India in the 3rd test by 22 runs, and took the 5-match series lead by 2-1. England captain Ben Stokes took 3 wickets.     

Day 5 Summary

Archer and Stokes 3-3 wickets, India all out scored 170

The target was set when India had to chase 193 after England collapsed for 192 in their second innings.

Stokes hit KL Rahul via DRS after Jofra Archer took Pant off early. India needed 81 more runs than England, who were 112/8 at lunchtime.

Ravindra Jadeja led the effort far into the day with a single, hard-hitting innings (61 off 181 balls*), but there was not enough help.

India’s last session fight

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played an important inning of 61* runs, making the winning hope for India in the last session of the match. Also made the last wicket's partnership with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. But India lost the game by 22 runs, but Jadeja his massive inning will be remembered for a long time.

England Lead 2-1, India Need To Win Both Upcoming Matches

After this win over India, England now leads 2-1 in the 5 test match series. Other hand, India needs to win both upcoming test matches to win the series. After this loss, India should review their team performance and make the changes in the next match. The England v India 4th test match will be on July 23 in Manchester.
