IPL 2025: IPL Announces New Rule Of Temporary Replacement After Resume

On May 14, BCCI announced a new rule in the IPL after resuming from May 17 to June 3. Its player replacement policy, which allows teams to sign short-term substitutes for the balance of the season. This rule aims to solve the difficulties teams face when players are unavailable for personal, injury, or national commitments.

BCCI Statement On IPL New Rule
BCCI gave the statement on the new rule of IPL 2025 after resume, he said "This decision is subject to the condition that the Temporary Replacement taken from this point forward, will not be eligible for retention in the following year. Temporary Replacement Players will have to register for the IPL PLayer Auction 2026.
IPL COO Statement
In a message to the franchisees, IPL COO Hemang Amin said "Due to non-availability of certain players due to national commitment or personal reasons, or injury or illness, Temporary Replacement Players will be allowed until the conclusion of this tournament."
