NZ v WI 2025: Kane Willinson Backs NZ Test Squad Against WI

Star batsman Kane Williamson, who has returned to red-ball cricket after a brief injury layoff, was chosen in the squad, giving New Zealand a major boost ahead of their upcoming Test series against the West Indies. With the Black Caps hoping to regain momentum in the World Test Championship cycle, his return is expected to add to their batting lineup.

Willingson has Not Played a test since December 2024

Williamson hasn't played for New Zealand in a Test match since December of last year after opting out of the Test series against Zimbabwe earlier in July. To prepare for the commencement of the Test, the reliable hitter will also play for the Northern Districts in the Plunkett Shield second round.
