Team India will not go to Pakistan under any circumstances: Government told BCCI

Team India will not go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy under any condition. BCCI sources said, if the Pakistan Cricket Board does not agree to the hybrid model, then Team India will not play the tournament. If PCB does not host the tournament, then India is also ready to host it. ICC has called a meeting on November 29, in which the final decision will be taken regarding the venue.

BCCI sources told Bhaskar, the government has clearly told BCCI that Team India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The government has asked BCCI to put its argument strongly in the ICC. ICC has also been asked to explain the situation in Pakistan and the importance of the safety of the players.

If PCB does not agree, India is ready for the tournament

The government has even said that if the Pakistan Cricket Board refuses to host the Champions Trophy, then India will host it. If ICC hands over the hosting to India, then full support will be received from the government. Not only this, the players of the teams coming to India to play the Champions Trophy will also not face any problem in getting visa.

PCB had said- India should play all the matches in Lahore

PCB had proposed to hold all the matches of India in Lahore and send the players to India after the match. India refused it, after which PCB also refused to adopt the hybrid model. Team India has not visited Pakistan since the terrorist attack in Mumbai during 2008. Due to security reasons, ICC had also banned international cricket in Pakistan during this period.

Pakistan got the stadium renovated

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is continuously preparing for the Champions Trophy 2025. PCB has almost completed the work of all three stadiums. They have spent 12.5 billion Pakistani rupees on the renovation of Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi stadiums.

Meanwhile, the Indian government had already refused to send its team to Pakistan. BCCI had told ICC that the team would not play the tournament in Pakistan. If Pakistan does not agree to the hybrid model, then the tournament may shift to another country.
